DINOSAUR PARTY

Do you have a dino loving child, you would would love to have a party that will embrace prehistoric fun? Feel free to use any of these ideas for your child's own "roaring"-fun party! Make sure you take credit for all of the ideas yourself...YOU are SUPERMOM afterall! :0)

Invitation: I created the invitations myself using invitation kits from Michael's. I printed the wording on card stock and added cool dinosaur sticker embellishments to create the look. Each invitation was slightly different (using different colored type and different embellishments).

Wording:
As any dinosaur can see....XXXXX is turning 3!!!
Stomp Over to His Party
Date:
Time:
Address:

RSVP to "Mom-asaurus" at...........

Decor: Lots of plastic dinosaurs in various sizes, lots of dino foot prints using chalk, "Dino Crossing" sign I made out of a scrap piece of cardboard

Arrival: people followed a path of dinosaur footprints from the sidewalk up the driveway to the front door. As each child arrived they were given a cardboard dinosaur mask (found at orientaltrading.com). We had a table with dinosaur coloring sheets, and a small bouncer we called the "Jurassic Jumper", so that kids could have fun as soon as they arrived.

Food: Every food item had a label with a "dino" name...
"Dino Bites" : Dino-shaped chicken nuggets
" Dino Bite Mud": BBQ sauce for the nuggets
"Cheese-osaurus Bones": Cheese Sticks
"Supersaurus Sandwiches": Sandwiches
"Fruit-saurus Salad": Fruit Salad
"Plant-eater Food": Green Salad
"T-Rex Meat and Cheese Chow": Lunch meat and cheese tray
"Crustaceous Carbohydrates": Rolls

Games: Since it was a party for younger kids, we only played 2 games.
-Dino Dig: On orientaltrading.com I found plastic dinosaur bones figures. We buried them in a bin full of sand and the the kids took turns digging for the bones. The kids got to keep the dinos they found.
-Dino Egg Hunt: I found eggs that had mini-plastic dinosaurs inside. We hid those around the yard and the kids went on a hunt....similar to an Easter egg hunt.

Cake: The local grocery stores had some really cute dinosaur cakes, but they were insanely overpriced. Instead of having the store create the entire cake for me, I had them do the frosting for what they would do on a dinosaur cake, but then told them to not include the accessories/toys on the cake they would normally include (saved me $15!)....I just added my own plastic dinosaurs when I brought the cake home.

Party Favors: the dino skeletons and eggs from the games, and a dino grabber
